Concerts
On March 1st, 2014 my nephew Robert and his band Cadence Please came to give my family and friends a concert in our yard. It was raining so we set them up in the garage and we put up canopies outside, my cousin Kelly grilled pizzas and we all had such a great time!
At the Redwood Mountain faire June 4, 2016 in Felton I first heard Michael Franti. There was several other really awesome groups but for some reason Michael franti and the Spearheads really caught my eyes/ears. It was my first concert in felton and I was hooked! I didn't get any pictures but I knew this wasn't going to be the last time that I heard them…
Club Avalon:
A friend that I have known for a long time, since middle school, invited me to a club where Ty Herndon was performing. She has twin brothers and they are in the band, I can’t remember if they played that night or not. I called the club several times to make sure it was wheelchair accessible and I was told several times “yes it totally is” when I got there I could clearly see that it was not. There was three or four steps to get down into the area of the stage. I ended up having to sit right next to the speakers and I couldn’t see a thing, I could hear it but not see it. I figured at least I could hear it and I don’t want to ruin everybody else’s time except I feel bad that they had to sit with me and start the speakers. At that time Ty Herndon was one of my favorites.
When I lived in San Jose I heard that Ty Herndon was going to be at a club in Santa Clara called club Avalon. Again I called the venue several times, at that time there was a couple that owned the club and I talked to both of them and they both reassured me that their club is accessible. I told both of them the story about the other club and they felt really bad, they were such a sweet couple! I guess they must’ve talked and they called me back and said they decided that they were going to get me a table right in front of the stage, give me free tickets and allow me to meet him after the concert… I was so excited!! That was one of the sweetest things that anybody has ever done for me and I was so thankful! When I got there, they asked me to come in early before everyone arrived so they can get me situated. They were such an adorable couple, I’ll never forget them! My caregiver at the time Lulu took me there and they gave her a ticket also. Sure enough we were right in front of the stage and it was an amazing concert!! I wish I could remember the couple’s name, they asked me to hang around for a while and they had a bunch of people stand in front of the bar to block it off and then here came Ty Herndon! I told Lulu to just keep taking pictures but after we got back I noticed she only really got two pictures of Ty and I and a partial picture of the club owner. I felt so fortunate that they were so sweet!
In June 2016 I also went to a Chicago concert at the Saratoga Mountain winery with Lisa, she's always been so much fun to hang around with and we had an amazing time! Singing along, it was unforgettable! I ran into a friend of mine Bob was lucky enough to work there!
I was introduced to Michael Franti
On June 11 I went to see Michael Franti at the Saratoga Mountain Winery. I got to see him two nights in a row, the first night I sat up in the place where I usually sit but the second concert I got seats right up in the front, I was beyond excited! he actually came up into the audience and danced right next to us, I went with my friend Trish and her friend Kelly. You can't see it in the video but when he turns around to leave he high-fived me!
In September 2016, my friend Marica who I have known since fifth grade, came to visit and went to the "Lost 80's Life" with Wang Chung, A Flock of Seagulls, Cutting Crew, Berlin, the original WHEN IN ROME UK, Nu Shooz, Annabella Lwin, Tommy Tutone, and Dramarama at the Saratoga Mountain winery. We had so much fun, and we had seats right up front! I adore this lady!
